Crypto

Crypto has never been unfamiliar to me. Since 2012, I’ve been keeping an eye on it, thinking: what if I bought some Bitcoin for €500 right now?
But I never did. My money always went to other things, and honestly… you don’t just put €500 into something that’s worth €500 one day and maybe only €10 the next. That’s how volatile Bitcoin was back then. Great for day trading — buy low, sell high — but only if you have the time, the skills, and the ability to stay on top of the charts. You also need to be able to afford the risk. Combining that with a full‑time job and a family simply wasn’t realistic.
I even tried mining at one point, but that didn’t bring any returns either, especially once the hardware suddenly gave out.

2024

So what’s fundamentally different now?
I still have a job, and I still have a family. Crypto is still volatile — sometimes more than ever — but the systems around it have improved significantly.

Crypto runs 24/7, and with a family and a job, that still isn’t something you can actively manage all day. That’s why I now approach it in two ways:

  • A platform where I trade occasionally myself
  • A platform that uses an AI trading bot

On the platform where I trade independently, I use recurring buys, and sometimes I buy or sell manually or swap between coins. I also use this platform to make purchases with crypto.

On the active trading platform with the AI bot, I simply let the bot do its work. Some days it’s busy, other days it does nothing for weeks. But whether I’m working, spending time with my family, or sleeping, the bot keeps running 24/7 — and that’s a reassuring thought.
Besides building a bit of capital, this also allows me to explore the possibilities of digital money and how easily it can be traded.

I started this year with a fixed amount, and I intend to stick to that. The bot’s costs make this a learning phase for now. In the coming months, I’ll evaluate whether expanding my investment — and therefore increasing potential returns — is balanced enough with the costs. In the end, it should generate money, not consume it.
